Objectives of Position:
Responsible for assisting CIS Wake’s senior leadership team with tracking and
acknowledging donors and partners; updating the organization’s donor databases,
tracking and evaluating fundraising efforts, and organizing special events.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct prospect research on individual, foundation, and corporate donors
- Update donor and grant databases and files, including calendaring deadlines,
logging donations, generating and sending donor acknowledgements, logging
donor appreciation efforts - Support creation and dissemination of annual appeal(s)
- Assist with annual application and year-round tracking of workplace giving
campaigns - Assist with grant application writing and tracking
- Execute logistics associated with special events, including assisting with creation
of invitation list, soliciting sponsors, communicating with venue and vendors - Assist with volunteer management, including identification of subscription to
relevant recruiting tools and resources - Work with Resource Development Committee to implement development
strategies
Qualifications:
- Be responsible, flexible, hard‐working, ethical, and committed to the mission
- Possess a high level of organizational skills and be detail oriented
- Self-starter, ability to work independently and with little supervision
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Google Drive proficiency
- Be able to operate standard office equipment (fax, photocopier, etc.)
- Be able to manage multiple tasks
An interest in a nonprofit career ‐ particularly development and fundraising - is a plus.
Training and Preparation:
Attend orientation session prior to beginning your internship. Must pass background check and complete volunteer application.
On the Job Supervision:
Reports to the Director of Advancement and Donor Engagement
