Move-In Volunteers: General Assistance

Expired

Description

NC State returning students and staff are needed to assist with University Housing move-in days!

Volunteers are needed each day from Thursday, August 12 through Sunday, August 15, 2021.

NOTE:  Volunteers will be assigned a location and/or task at the start of their shift, depending on specific needs.  We cannot guarantee a specific building or area of campus prior to the chosen time slot.

 * Please include your UNITY ID / NC State email address and a phone number where you may be reached on the day of your shift in the "Notes" section when submitting your registration. *

General volunteers (NC State students or faculty/staff members) will be positioned at key locations across campus to greet new students as they arrive and provide information and directions related to the move-in process.  For example, you will be directing residents to their building's check-in location, reminding families about health and safety requirements (eg: masks, physical distancing, etc.), or providing directions to campus services such as Wolfpack OneCard pickup. Volunteers may also be asked to assist in dedicated unloading zones to watch residents' belongings while they complete their move-in process.

We are committed to the health and safety of students, staff, volunteers, and visitors to NC State's campus. In an effort to provide a near contactless move-in experience, volunteers WILL NOT be asked to unload or move personal items for residents. Face coverings will be required indoors in all residential facilities throughout the move-in period, and physical distancing will be practiced to the greatest extent possible.

Single volunteer shifts are 5 hours in length and will require check-in at the beginning of your shift and check-out at the end of your shift.  Assistance is needed rain-or-shine. Please wear clothes and shoes that you are comfortable moving in for an extended period of time, and don't forget a water bottle!  Face coverings are required indoors during the move-in period and are encouraged when outdoors in close proximity to others.  If you do not have a face covering, a mask may be provided for you. You are welcome to bring gloves, but gloves will not be provided. Hand sanitizing stations will be prominently located in all residential buildings.

Additional information will be provided to registered volunteers in advance of their time slot.

(Note: University Housing RAs or VMs should NOT complete this form but may be tasked with filling these or other essential move-in roles.)
