Get outdoors this LDOC and give back by volunteering in The Women's Center local community garden! The Women's Center of Wake County works to prevent and end homelessness for women and their families in the Triangle area. Participants will help move dirt, weed, water plants, and help plant some things.
The garden is located at the Alexander Family YMCA off Hillsborough Street. Participants are encouraged to meet at Talley around 9:30 AM to head to the YMCA together. If you drive over you can park on the street or in the YMCA parking lot. The event happens on Friday, April 30th from 10-12 PM and we hope to see you there!
Bug spray and gardening gloves will be provided along with any other tools needed. Make sure to wear clothes that can get dirty, close-toed shoes, and bring a water bottle and a snack to keep you energized throughout the event. Haley Johnson will contact you the week of the event to confirm attendance and provide information regarding expected weather.
