Parking Assistants will greet voters in the Jeter Drive Bays Parking lot (next to Reynolds Coliseum), and help remind motorists that parking in spaces designated for voters should be used for that purpose. Parking Assistants will also direct voters to Talley Student Union where they will vote in the early voting site. There are many volunteer opportunities shifts with this opportunity and we encourage folks to sign-up for as many as they like. Before your volunteer shift, you will receive additional information and training for this volunteer opportunity.
You can click on "Respond to Multiple" to easily sort all available shifts.

Notes regarding the video:
I also mentioned making sure to let staff park with the disability placard, but I also forgot to mention that there are also a couple of "AS" assigned space users in that row. They are the coaches so, make sure you let them park too :)
For your information, you should check out Pack The Polls page which has important guidance on Talley Early Voting, parking information, and info about the site. A map is below in this email as well:

People who are volunteering in the morning will likely be busy telling staff members not to park in the first row, and often by just standing with a Yellow Vest it makes people realize they should not be parking there, even though there is a sign...
The main thing is to welcome and greet voters with a smile and let them know we are thankful for them to choose Talley Student Union as their polling place!
Additional information:
f you are helping with the morning shift at 7:00am/8am please help to ensure the cones are set-up properly. There should be a row of cones in the back of the Jeter Drive Bay and 2-3 cones at the front of Jeter Drive Bay, I always leave just enough space for a car to get through, but not much so they feel obliged to stop and talk. This helps staff members who think that they are still able to park...
During everyone's shift, stand where the green dot is behind the cones so as voters/staff pull there they will notice you and the cones clearly so they know if they should park there or not park there for voting purposes.
Monday Feb. 24th & Tuesday Feb 26th
If you have the 1pm shift, at the end of the shift please move the cones off to the side where you were standing so not to block too much traffic flow in and out of the bay, but still enough to notice the cones before turning into the bay. I don't have volunteers assisting after 3pm because I am mostly concerned about the morning and lunch hours, but I am hopeful the lot will stay mostly open after 5pm. So the 7am shift will move these cones back into position.
Wednesday February 26th -Friday February 28th
The last few days of Early Voting are the busiest and we have added the second parking bay and have extended parking assistants until 7pm those days. This will be the busiest time and I suspect you will be an active volunteer. If you are helping on these days please spread yourselves out so that one person is at the entrance of each bay.
