Event Description:

In honor of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., you're invited to give back to MLK Memorial Gardens! Volunteers are needed to assist with mulching to help beautify the park.

 Impact:

Mulching plays an important role in well landscaped areas as it controls weed growth, provides moisture for plants, and an overall positive aesthetic look to the park!

 Volunteer Duties:

Volunteers will spread mulch around the landscaped areas. Volunteers will work in teams to help fill wheelbarrows, run wheelbarrows and dump mulch in identified landscape beds, and rake mulch.

 Work Environment:

This project will be outside so we recommend dressing for the weather. There is a possibility of uneven ground. There is a restroom on site.

 Volunteer Requirements:

Volunteers must be at least 16 years old to volunteer. All volunteers will need to sign volunteer release forms. Volunteers under the age of 18 will need to have a parent/guardian signature.

 Special Details:

Tools, gloves, water, snacks, first-aid kit, bug spray and sunscreen will be provided. Volunteers must wear loose comfortable clothing that can get dirty and sturdy, closed-toe shoes like hiking/work boots or sneakers.
