Volunteer: Reception Desk VolunteerThis position is responsible for providing reception duties for the A.E. Finley Research and Education Center at Historic Yates Mill County Park. These duties include greeting visitors to the Center, answering the phone, responding to inquiries, providing information, maps and brochures to visitors as well as providing other basic office support activities. Volunteers are also expected to greet park visitors with friendliness and to provide good public relations with park users in all circumstances. Qualifications/Skills: Visitor Service Volunteers need to have strong interpersonal skills and good verbal communications skills as well as a pleasant demeanor with visitors. Having basic computer skills is a plus. Volunteers also need to have a dedication to, interest in, and appreciation for the preservation of our heritage and environment. Volunteer: Mill Tour GuideMight you enjoy teaching education programs and/or leading guided mill tours, and maybe even getting to dress in historic costumes? We can always use assistance for the park’s programs and would love to hear how you best think you can contribute to the park’s programming efforts. Tour guides lead one-hour guided tours for the public on Saturdays and Sundays. Tours take visitors through the historic gristmill, which is over 200 years old! This is a great opportunity for students interested in history, education, public history, and customer service!
